Your result for Awakening the Hero Within: Hero Archetype Test...

You are the Fool

75% Innocent, 17% Orphan, 50% Warrior, 71% Caregiver, 63% Seeker, 71% Lover, 38% Destroyer, 58% Creator, 64% Magician, 58% Ruler, 67% Sage and 96% Fool!

Goal: Enjoyment

Fear: Nonaliveness

Response to Dragon/Problem: Play tricks on it

Task: Trust in the process

Gift: Joy, freedom

Addictions: Excitement, cocaine, alcohol

The Fool is the archetype most helpful in dealing with the absurdities of the modern world and with faceless, amorphous modern bureaucracies– places where no one takes personal responsibility, rules are expected to be followed mo matter how absurd they might be, and the tables are incredibly stacked against individual effectiveness. A Jester does not merely provide entertainment, but also points out the failings of the kingdom to a wise Ruler. Thus, Fools are often the most serious archetype of all. The Fool often violates social norms in humourous ways to avoid provoking undue hostility.

A Fool’s politics are anarchistic. Fools are resilient, and are willing to stand up and try again despite failing. The Fool enjoys the contest of the wits even in the most dangerous or offensive of circumstances, and hates being bored.

Shadow Fool:

When such energy is not allowed, it simply goes underground, and in doing so becomes negative, undermining force. The Shadow Fool delights in breaking rules, regardless of the consequences. Unbridled and undisciplined sensuality, madness, and multiple personalities or personas are usually the results of the force of the Shadow Fool. The Shadow Fool has an unrealistic vision of what is required for survival, emotions, and relationships and believes that in order to succeed at conventional norms, one must work all of the time, so there is no use in undertaking any conventional task.

Video antics
[info]rook330
A while back, I made a video of diet coke and mentos in my mouth. Good times even though I broke my glasses.

I like being silly and I have felt like a grown-up lately. Which, for me, is sucky.

So, today, I decided to make another video. A video that would unlock that trickster and fool inside me.

Naked snow angel.

I'm not sure what the temperature was when I did it, but I can tell you it was freaking cold. I can also tell you that I'm happy that I'm a grower, not a shower.

Doubt that I'll post it but...

Parties
[info]rook330
Last night was a blast! Got to see some people I hadn't seen in a long time at the McFarland/McMillen holiday party. Keith, Matt K., Andrea, Renee and Fred were all in attendance. Andre and her girlfriend, Dani both made it up, which was nice. They had a blast too.

Tom, my former brother in law, came with and we picked up Jeff to hit some thrift stores and the West Side market before the party. I bought some more smoked salt and some black lava salt. MMM SALT!

Rockband was indeed in full force in the basement. The rocking lasted from hook up right up to the time I had to pack it up to head home, thankfully not alone... ;)

Met some new people, Travis and Kiera were especially fun to rock out with.

Rocking out totally made me want to hit a karaoke place soon!

Matt and Heather were hosts supreme, making Andre and Dani and Tom feel welcome. It was funny to see the look on Matt's face when he was trying to puzzle out who Dani was from across the room, though, as he had never met her.

Carl's mead was as ridiculous as always, with Peach and raspberry being big hits with me, but Batch 8, an older and sparkling mead taking the cake.

This morning, a party of another sort. Jeff and I played some gears of war with me brother in KY via xbox live. Pretty spectacular.

Now, I rest for a bit until my company returns...

Saturday morning.

I love the sound of Lucky charms tinkling out like coins from a jackpot slot into a bowl.

I love that edgy manic energy that comes after, something that can only be tamed by long hours of cartoons or video games.

I've always loved those things and I'm sure I always will. For me, the weekends always meant getting up early and having fun.

Now, I wake with people I love, and sometimes the cereal is accompanied with coffee(!!) and pajamas. (and sometimes, no pajamas!)

IT'S SATURDAY! IT'S SATURDAY! CARTOONS ARE ON! *bounces on bed*

I love the weekends, more now than ever!

Sometimes, I get flashes of insight at random times. Just pure sparkling true thoughts that make everything clear.

This morning, while listening to NPR and only half awake, I had one.

On NPR, they stated that the CIA considers Al-Qaeda to be threat number one to the United States. Listening to that, it immediately struck me what the SECONDMOST threat to the US was.

It explains so much.

The secondmost threat to the US is obviously boogeymen. More specifically, THE boogeyman.

It explains the need for warrantless wiretaps, reading emails and observation of the American people, because the boogeyman can be under ANY bed.

I expect any day now for the news to break that the CIA are using children as forward observers and scouts for the Boogeyman threat.

Parents, please take note of your child's fear of the monster under the bed! Children are our first line of defense against the Boogeyman, because children can see them clearly.

It also explains the current administration's policies on gay rights.

Obviously, "THE GAYS" are numerous and while many of them are open about their sexuality and who they choose to love, (but not marry, oh no!) many more of them are "in the closet".

And, who else is in the closet?

That's right. THE BOOGEYMAN!

Hopefully, with the upcoming regime change in the US, President Obama will sit down without preconditions with THE BOOGEYMAN and hammer out some sort of deal. There is space in this country for Americans and monsters under the bed to peacefully co exist. Perhaps, the deal could allow for closets to be strictly reserved for gay people? That way the guilt by closet association won't be so bad.

I think now is the time for the differences of the American people and the Boogeyman and his minions be set aside for our mutual bright and shining futures. ( Note: subsitute spooky and gloomy for monsters)

We will all need to marshal our forces and become allies with traditional enemies to deal with the impending Zombie apocalypse.

Things I've learned this weekend. part one.

My Rain Name is Puddles.

Legs on a ball can be just as good as legs on the wall.

Being tucked into Queens pose with bean bags in your hands is awesome.

Indian food does not go well with tv shows about cops and car chases.

There are quite a few Podunk, Ohios.

Catching leaves that fly over the mouths of serpents can be difficult.

When rolling down a hill, don't forget to go back to get your cell phone.

For that matter, remove cell phones, BEFORE the spankings.

Zombies that are centered around a specific part of a girl are horrible ideas.

Tooth paste on plsces other than mouths makes them tingly AND minty fresh.

Gosa Raps means sneaky expensive in Swedish.

Shoe skating in a crowd of people is pretty fun.

Shoe skating at high speeds in a crowd of people AGAINST the flow of traffic is even more fun.

Pillow selection should be done with careful deliberation.

I think I'll always wonder if those brands were placed there after the fact.

Long waits in a slow moving line should end in roller coasters and haunted houses.

4 shots are barely enough some times.

Car-E-oke is pretty awesome.

A cell phone's low battery warning beeps just as you fall deep enough back to sleep to not be able to find the damn thing in the dark.

Keys on your feet when all you want is chapstick on your lips is unfortunate.

If I go to bed at 8 pm, I'll wake up at 6 am.

If I go to bed at 5:30 am, I'll wake up at 6 am.

wha?

I had a very nice visit with my mother. Well, mostly nice. We were visiting and discussing the finer points of vacationing in North Carolina versus Jacksonville. She finally decided on Jacksonville.

Everything was going well up until the point i had to leave. Then, I pissed off a bit because she's never around when I wake up. I told her that I had some people I would love her to meet.

Damn it.
